Exchange Rates

The exchange rates published are the “Buy TT” rates from our bank (Westpac NZ), as these are the relevant rates for buying a foreign currency. Note that there is a discrepancy between this rate and the “Sell TT” rate, which is often mistakenly quoted by some agents.

This rate is valid for a period of 7 days from the time the invoice is sent out.

Please Note: There is small incremental buffer included to counter any fluctuations within the time period before payment is made.

SKYCITY Auckland Fire Update

Further to our update yesterday on the Fire that has occurred at the NZ International Convention Centre.

Following is the latest information we have on the situation:

  • Whilst the decision has been made to close the Skycity precinct in its entirety today including both Skycity Hotel & Skycity Grand Hotel and the neighbouring F&B outlets, it is likely the hotels will reopen to normal business tomorrow following official clearance by the Emergency services.  Skycity to provide us with an official update on this tomorrow
  • Status of the fire is it is now contained however will be monitored by the Emergency services with an official update tomorrow. 
  • Affected clients today have been relocated to other hotels around the CBD. 
  • Sky Tower may remain closed until Sunday 27 October.  We are waiting for further notification on this from Skycity.
  • Any booking requests containing the hotels, please understand there maybe a slight delay in response time with the Skycity Hotels team busy working with effected clients at this time.
  • Clients travelling on any InterCity, Grayline or GreatSights services tomorrow, a temporary bus terminal is in place tomorrow on the corner of Mayoral Drive and Cook Street and are currently informing any affected clients of the new process for tomorrow.
